My Story

Welcome to Dakota M. Photography!! At age 12 I had grown a fascination with photography when I watched a good friend of mine take photos of me and my friends for fun. I had been scared to venture out into the photography world as I was scared I wouldn't be accepted by wanting to do it or seem capable of taking great or good photos, but my friend(s) and family believed in me and helped me start my passion by letting me practice taking photos with her camera. Although we have parted ways I am still very grateful for that friend to this day, being that she has brought me to where I've gotten today. Fast forward to Christmas day of 2019 I received my very own camera. I started that very day working on my photography and were very excited for new beginnings that may come with it. Later on after some practice at home with as many still objects as I could find my very kind friends let me practice on them, and soon I got the opportunity to practice taking equine photos. Months later I brought my camera to one of my favorite shows, being Southeastern and I do not regret it one bit as I had the best time taking photos. Moving on to the 2021 season I started to begin my photography portfolio bringing my camera to almost every show. I truly cannot express enough how grateful I am for the love and support from many and the friends I had made throughout the year.

2023 now will make it my almost sixth year riding and fourth show season in academy, and will be riding under the direction of Creekwood Riding Academy. This year will as well be my third year bringing my camera to horse shows! When I am not taking photos you could more than likely find me spending time with my horse, Special, or spending time with my friends ice skating or baking (some of my other favorite hobbies to spend with friends).

With all that being, thank you for reading and if you ever see me at a show don't forget to smile for the camera, and feel free to stop by and say hi!!

XOXO,
